The best part of this game are simply the interactions with others, however, they are constantly interrupted by the super boring dungeon parts. That is used purely for battling.
I have a few issues with the vanilla version of Persona 3. Sure, I did feel a bit more limited than the first time around, but it wasn't a make or break function. You also get to communicate with your friends and other things as well. All characters were boring anime archetypes with no flavor of their own. Persona 3 Portable is a beast of a game, that is absolutely not to be missed.
If all the enemies are in such a state, you can launch a devastating all-out-attack. The battle system underwent a complete overhaul, now being more reminiscent of Persona 4 than its predecessor. A lot of people I've known or followed talked about the Persona series and I got this game recommended to me at least 10 times before I actually tried it, and the sad thing is that I tried it I've rarely been at a loss for words when it comes to opinions on video games, but now I find myself in the first time I don't know how or where to begin. The gameplay is just right. Persona 3 Portable is a beast of a game, that is absolutely not to be missed. Voice acting is some of the best in the business, and the character design is amazing especially if you like anime, I highly recommend the artbook to go along with it, the huge soundtrack is worth getting aswell The story is very dark even the color scheme was made to reflect this and will probably make you cry I sure did. The enemies are color swaps and the whole gameplay just revolves around knowing The great potential of this game - the simulation of a life of a school kid and the bonds he forms with others - is totally ruined by the level of boredom and tedoiusness that you'll feel while doing the 250+ floors of Tartarus, one of the worst randomly generated dungeons I've ever encountered in a video game. The story line to this was actually quite impressive; a little cheesy; but good. The songs in this also relate back to the story of the protagonist.
All characters were boring anime archetypes with no I expected something better for all of the hype this really average franchise gets. . Much better gameplay which is still simplistic crap , better overall control easier to move from room to room, lots of user-friendly buttons , and the new female protagonist adds several new social links and makes the whole game enjoyable all over again, if you can deal with the awkwardness that comes with playing as a female who actually expresses her feminity at all times. And the skill card system is a welcome addition. I also enjoyed the music of P3P. I think everybody who has a psp should most definitely this game it is worth getting.
It's the battle system that just sucks. The areas change slightly, but they would have done better to have the soundtrack vary in a greater way or for the different blocks of Tartarus to be themed as they are in Persona 4. The first and foremost thing you will find distracting is the overworld. Being the sucker I am for a good story, I fell in love no pun intended with this game quickly. I managed to finish the game after 108 hours of pluses and minuses. Overall, it's fine, just too bad that you'll basically never see your character s outside the dungeon, especially when there are a lot of costumes to unlock, Also, because of this, most of the cutscenes got cut as well. The game is also very long I finished in about 60-70 hours, 80+ with the secondary tasks and the additional fusions which really strikes out considering that most of the rpgs on portable consoles aren't very long unless you do the additonal stuff. If you have already played P3 however, you will find a lot to love with this port.
